# Which AI assistants can you connect to Nova, and what do they need?

Any assistant that supports remote MCP servers can connect to Nova with one address, `https://mcp.novadata.io/api/mcp`, and a Nova sign-in. Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Grok and Gemini each have a step-by-step guide, and so do in-house agents. What changes from one to the next is the plan the assistant requires and who in your team adds the connector.

## Which plan does each assistant need?

| Assistant | Plan required | Who sets it up | Guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| Claude | Free, Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise (Free allows one custom connector) | Each user; on Team and Enterprise an Owner adds it first | [Connect Claude](/amazon-ai-agents/connect-claude) |
| ChatGPT | Business, Enterprise or Edu, on the web | Workspace admin | [Connect ChatGPT](/amazon-ai-agents/connect-chatgpt) |
| Microsoft Copilot | Copilot Studio access | Agent maker | [Connect Copilot](/amazon-ai-agents/connect-copilot) |
| Grok | Paid Grok plan | Each user | [Connect Grok](/amazon-ai-agents/connect-grok) |
| Gemini | Personal Google account, US, 18+, Keep Activity on, English | Each user; on Gemini Enterprise your admin | [Connect Gemini](/amazon-ai-agents/connect-gemini) |
| Your own agent | Any remote MCP client with OAuth | Your engineers | [Connect enterprise AI](/amazon-ai-agents/connect-enterprise-ai) |

All six guides start from [the connection hub](/amazon-ai-agents/connect).

## What happens when you connect?

1. You paste the Nova address into the assistant's connector settings.
2. The assistant opens the Nova sign-in, and you sign in with your own Nova login.
3. The assistant sees the accounts of the workspaces you can open, nothing else.

Each person who connects signs in separately, so a teammate's assistant sees that teammate's workspaces, not yours. Scope, writes and revoking access are on [Overview and security](/docs/mcp/overview-and-security).

## What about Claude Code, Gemini CLI or a script?

Terminal clients connect with a workspace token instead of a sign-in. On the **Nova MCP** page in the app, click **Generate a token instead**, name the token, and copy it: it is shown once. Then add Nova, for example in Claude Code:

`claude mcp add --transport http nova https://mcp.novadata.io/api/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer <your-token>"`

Gemini CLI takes the same line with `gemini mcp add`. A token reads one workspace and cannot write; see [Overview and security](/docs/mcp/overview-and-security).

## Does the assistant need a Nova subscription?

No subscription is needed during the trial. After a trial ends without one, the assistant keeps a small daily allowance of data calls; see [Limits and behavior](/docs/mcp/limits).
