# What limits apply to the Nova MCP server, and how do its answers read?

During your trial and on a paid plan, every tool is available without a daily cap. Once a trial ends without a subscription, your organization keeps 15 data calls a day. Every caller is limited to 120 requests a minute, and each tool caps the rows it returns per call.

## What happens when the trial ends?

| Plan state | Data calls |
|---|---|
| Trial running | No daily cap |
| Paid, or cancelled until the end of the last paid period | No daily cap |
| Trial ended, no subscription | 15 a day per organization, reset at 00:00 UTC |

`list_metrics`, `describe_metric`, `list_accounts` and `list_tags` are free and never count. Past the allowance, the call is not run and the assistant receives a message saying the free usage is spent, with the link to Settings, Organization, Plan & Billing, where an organization Owner can subscribe.

Until the organization subscribes, two reads stop at the trial's history floor: `query_sqp`, and `query_reviews` for `review_units` and `review_rate`. The answer then carries `dataFloor`, the first day served, so an absence before it reads as withheld, not as no data. How much history a trial loads is in [History depth](/docs/your-data/history-depth).

## How many requests and rows per call?

Each person signed in with OAuth, and each token, has its own limit of 120 requests a minute. Above it the server answers HTTP 429.

| Tool | Rows per call, default and maximum |
|---|---|
| `query_metrics` | 50, up to 100 |
| `find_movers` | 10, up to 100 |
| `query_advertising`, `query_search_terms`, `query_sqp`, `query_dsp` | 50, up to 1,000 |
| `query_reviews` | 50, up to 1,000 |
| `query_inventory`, `query_vendor_inventory` | 100, up to 1,000 |
| `query_listing_health` | 50, up to 1,000 |
| `query_bsr` | 50, up to 200 |
| `query_vendor_purchase_orders`, `query_vendor_invoices`, `query_vendor_remittances` | 50, up to 200 |
| `list_negative_targets`, `query_inbound_shipments` | 50, up to 500 |
| COGS, FBM, VAT and tags worksheets | 200, up to 1,000 |

A larger `limit` is lowered to the maximum, not refused. Tools with an `offset` page through the rest. A time series is never cut: it comes whole, in date order, up to 1,000 periods. A longer one is refused with the coarser grains that fit.

**Writes**

| Write | Most rows per call |
|---|---|
| COGS, VAT, FBM overrides, tags, supply chain imports | 2,000 |
| `import_fbm_zone_rates` | 200 |
| `update_listing_content` | 50 SKUs |

## Which grains and dates can you ask for?

Dates are `YYYY-MM-DD`, and `from` and `to` are both included: a month runs from its 1st to its last day. Days are marketplace days (see [Time zones](/docs/your-data/time-zones)).

`query_metrics` groups by `sku`, `childAsin`, `parentAsin`, `marketplace`, `sellerAccount`, `tag`, or a time grain: `day`, `week`, `month`, `quarter`, `year`. Traffic metrics exist per ASIN, not per SKU: asked per SKU they come back null with an `unservedMetrics` note. `query_sqp` reads whole Amazon periods only, `week` (Sunday to Saturday) or `month`, and by default the latest complete one.

Arguments are checked strictly: an argument the tool does not declare is refused rather than ignored. A metric can be named naturally, such as `tacos`, when the name means exactly one metric.

## Which currency are amounts in?

Your own display currency, the one you picked in the app's currency menu, when it is one of the organization's currencies; otherwise the primary currency. The `currency` argument pins any configured code; any other code is refused. Answers state `currency` and `currencyBasis`. `query_sqp` always answers in the primary currency. Vendor Central purchase orders, invoices and remittances stay in each document's own currency. See [Currencies](/docs/your-data/currencies).

## How do errors read?

A refused or failed call returns `Error:`, the reason, and "retryable" (a passing failure) or "not retryable" (change the request). An unknown metric gets the closest valid keys.

## Which notices come with an answer?

The assistant is told to relay each one before the figures it qualifies.

| Notice | When |
|---|---|
| `cogsNotice` | 5% or more of the units sold have no COGS: profit is overstated |
| `marketplaceNotice` | The total adds up several marketplaces, unlike Amazon's screens |
| `adsHistoryNotice` | Part of the period predates the account's ads history |
| `subscribeAndSaveNotice` | Subscribe & Save figures not final yet, or partly missing |
| `currencyNotice` | The answer is not in the primary currency, or your currency could not be applied |

## Ask your AI

> What was my net profit last month, and did any notice come with the answer?
