What changed in 2026

Amazon capped product titles at 75 characters in every non-media category and started auto-rewriting non-compliant titles with its own AI on July 27, 2026 — with no seller review step.

75-character hard cap

Titles over 75 chars get auto-rewritten by Amazon's AI. You don't see the change until it's live.

Rufus-friendly

Amazon's AI assistant reads short, structured, brand-first titles. Long spammy titles get skipped in AI answers.

Item Highlights (125 chars)

A new searchable field under the title. Move stripped keywords here before enforcement to keep them indexed.

The 7 rules we enforce

Every rewrite passes the same deterministic checklist Amazon's auto-rewriter uses.

  1. 0175 characters or fewer, including spaces.
  2. 02Brand first, then product type, then 1-2 key differentiators (material, size, color, pack).
  3. 03Title case (no ALL CAPS words, except acronyms like USB, LED, 4K).
  4. 04No promo words (Best, Sale, Free Shipping, Amazon's Choice, #1, Guaranteed).
  5. 05No emoji, no !, ?, $, ~, ^, *, brackets, or HTML entities.
  6. 06ASCII only (no smart quotes, no accented characters).
  7. 07No repeated keywords.

Starting July 27, 2026, Amazon caps product titles at 75 characters across every non-media category. Non-compliant titles get auto-rewritten by Amazon's AI without a seller review step. Titles over the limit, titles repeating keywords, titles with promotional language (best, top-rated, sale), and titles with disallowed special characters are all in scope.
Paste any 10-character ASIN. Nova fetches the current live title, brand, category, and attributes from Amazon, then rewrites the title under the 75-character cap: brand first, product type, then 1-2 key differentiators. You get the new title, a compliance checklist (7 rules), and a list of what was kept vs dropped.
From July 27, 2026 Amazon does not suppress the listing, it silently rewrites the title with its own AI. Titles that repeat keywords, use promo language, or include disallowed symbols get the same treatment. The bigger risk is losing a mid-tail keyword you had ranked on: once Amazon strips it, you cannot get it back without republishing.
Yes. First lookup is ungated. After that you enter your email once and get up to 10 free lookups per browser. The rewrite runs on Nova's Amazon-tuned AI model plus a deterministic validator that enforces every Amazon Seller Central title rule. No credit card required.
Generic tools produce titles that read well but often break Amazon's rules (promo words, ALL CAPS, over 75 chars). Nova's optimizer pairs the AI with a 7-rule validator: if the AI output fails any rule, it retries, then falls back to a deterministic trim so you always get a compliant title.
The free tool covers amazon.com (US) today. The 75-character rule applies across most Amazon marketplaces, and Nova's paid platform covers all 21 marketplaces with per-locale title rules and category-specific caps (apparel is 60, for example).
Item Highlights is a new 125-character searchable field Amazon introduced alongside the 75-char cap. It renders under the title in search results. Move compliance-safe keywords Amazon stripped from your title into Item Highlights to keep them indexed.
