Amazon is extending the FBM refund processing window from 2 business days to 4 calendar days. Starting January 26, 2026, sellers have more time to inspect returns before issuing refunds. But miss the deadline and you lose SAFE-T claim eligibility.
Amazon is simplifying the FBM refund timeline. Instead of tracking 2 business days (which excludes weekends and holidays), sellers now have exactly 4 calendar days from when the return is delivered back to them.
This change applies to all seller-fulfilled orders in the US marketplace. Returnless Refund Service (RFS) timelines remain unchanged at 2 business days.
Important Caveat
If you miss the 4-day deadline, Amazon automatically issues the refund. You also lose eligibility to file a SAFE-T claim for that return, except in lost-in-transit cases. Process returns promptly to preserve your reimbursement rights.
