Reports & data

How do I build an ASIN-level P&L from Amazon reports?

Combine settlement data (revenue, fees, refunds), advertising reports (ad spend per SKU via product-level attribution), and your COGS file. Roll up weekly and monthly per ASIN. Most sellers underestimate refunds and product-level PPC when they build this themselves.

The data sources

Settlement report: gross revenue, referral fee, FBA fee, storage, refund revenue and cost. Advertising reports: product-level ad spend. Inventory report: units on hand and COGS. Business Reports: sessions and CVR for context.

The formula

Net revenue = gross revenue - returns. Contribution margin = net revenue - referral fee - FBA fee - COGS - product ad spend - refund reserve. Do it per ASIN, per week, over 90 days.

Frequently asked questions

Can I do this in a spreadsheet?

Yes, but the settlement report is 20+ columns and joining across weeks by SKU is tedious. Nova does this natively.

Do I need Vendor data?

Only if you sell 1P as well as 3P.

How often should I refresh?

Weekly at minimum, daily is ideal for active SKUs.
