On September 22, 2026, we asked ChatGPT using model gpt-4o: “What are the top analytics platforms for Amazon sellers?” It returned seven names in this order: Helium 10, Jungle Scout, AMZScout, Viral Launch, Sellics, Keepa and SellerApp. Two of those seven are no longer products a new customer can buy.

This was one dated check, not a ranking study or a tracker. The useful finding is narrower: a confident AI answer can carry a name years past the point when it is a real procurement option. Shortlists for reporting stacks increasingly start with answers like this, including shortlists prepared for multi-account and multi-marketplace operations.

Status checks were performed on September 23, 2026. “No change found” means the site was operating during that check, not that its ownership or product has never changed.

Viral Launch consolidated inside Seller Suite

Viral Launch closed to new sign-ups on January 5, 2026, while existing customers retained legacy access. Epinium’s May 20 review records that it stopped taking new customers in January 2026, that its domain points to Intellifox and that both products sit under the same Seller Suite group (Epinium).

We opened viral-launch.com on September 23 and received a permanent redirect to intellifox.com. The single-r domain, viralaunch.com, did not respond. This is consolidation inside one group, not abandonment of the category. The redirect reflects where Seller Suite now sends prospective customers.

Google has indexed an AmazonFBA thread titled “Viral Launch shut down? Was about to use them and saw this” (seller thread). Reddit blocked our automated request, so we are not using the thread for any claim beyond its indexed title.

Sellics is several ownership changes out of date

Ascential acquired Sellics in April 2022 and merged it into Perpetua. Perpetua announced the combination on April 19, and GP Bullhound, which advised Sellics, described the same transaction and integration (Perpetua; GP Bullhound).

The acquirer kept moving. Sellics went into Perpetua inside Ascential. Ascential’s digital commerce brands became Flywheel, and Omnicom completed its acquisition of Flywheel in January 2024 (Omnicom announcement). Founder Franz Jordan left Perpetua and Flywheel in February 2024, roughly two years after the acquisition (Jordan’s announcement).

We opened sellics.com on September 23, 2026 and received a permanent redirect to perpetua.io. Sellics is therefore wrong as a 2026 product recommendation at the product, brand and ownership levels. The sellics.de domain did not respond. For a team already using the product, the ownership chain creates a migration question: what changed in the contract, roadmap, integrations and data export path under each successive owner?

Quiet changes are easy to miss

Two direct checks show why old names survive. We opened managebystats.com on September 23, 2026 and it redirected to Carbon6’s ManageByStats page. It lives on as a Carbon6 product rather than an independent tool. Cashcowpro.com did not respond during the same check.

These examples are not evidence of an industry collapse. Our September 23 checks found Teikametrics, AMZFinder, SellerEngine, Perpetua, Zonmaster, Feedvisor, QuantifyNinja, AMZScout, Keepa, Shopkeeper, SellerLegend, SellerApp, ZonGuru, Sellerboard, Helium 10, Jungle Scout, Intellifox and Carbon6 operating. Most of the category is alive. The problem is that a few stale names can remain embedded in an otherwise plausible answer.

Why models get software status wrong

A language model can answer from material published while a tool was still active. A quiet shutdown or acquisition rarely creates enough new coverage to outweigh years of comparison pages, reviews and forum mentions using the old name.

A redirect is also invisible when the model is not fetching the page during the answer. It can reproduce the old consensus without checking the current owner or whether the product remains available for a new contract. For an agency, carrying that name into a client deck eight months after new sign-ups closed creates a credibility cost, especially when the shortlist began with an AI answer.

Validate the shortlist before procurement or renewal

  1. Resolve the current entity and owner. Follow the product domain, record any redirect and confirm which company now holds the product and contract.
  2. Check operational continuity. Confirm the current roadmap, supported integrations, account and marketplace coverage, and the process for exporting historical data.
  3. Verify commercial availability. Before a new procurement or renewal, confirm that the named product still accepts new contracts and identify which terms, support path and migration obligations now apply.
