How does Nova read Search Query Performance?

Search Query Performance is Amazon's Brand Analytics report of what shoppers search before they see, click, add to cart and buy your products, against the whole market for each search. Nova reads it for your best-selling products, week by week and month by month, and links each search to your PPC data.

Who can get it?

Brand owners enrolled in Amazon Brand Registry: Amazon serves the report only to them. Nova reads it automatically once your Seller Central account is connected.

Which products does Nova track?

Amazon serves the report one product at a time, so Nova chooses which to read:

  • Your top 100 child products by sales over the last 30 days, across marketplaces.
  • On each marketplace where the product sold at least about $100, or its equivalent, in those 30 days.
  • Up to 500 product and marketplace pairs per account.

A product that drops out of the top is kept for about two months before Nova stops reading it, and its history is never deleted.

How far back does it go?

13 months and 13 weeks at the start, then every new week and month as Amazon publishes it.

What does each search show?

StageMarketYours
ImpressionsAll impressions on the searchYour products' impressions and share
ClicksAll clicksYour clicks and click share
Add to cartAll adds to cartYours and your share
PurchasesAll purchasesYours and your share
PriceThe market's median priceYour median price

Prices stay in the marketplace's currency.

How are searches grouped?

Nova groups the variants of a search, such as plurals and word order, under one keyword, and tags each keyword: your core searches, searches with your brand, competitors' brands, searches too broad to win, and the long tail.

How does it meet your PPC data?

Each keyword is linked to your ad targets and search terms on the search text. That shows where you buy a search with ads, where organic already wins it, and where the market buys a lot while your share stays low.
