How does Nova cost the orders you ship yourself?

Amazon does not charge you for an order you ship yourself, so Nova takes the cost from you: a shipping rate by delivery country, a packing cost per parcel and a picking cost per unit. The sum is the FBM fulfillment cost, subtracted inside Profit before Ads.

What can you enter?

CostChargedTypical use
ShippingPer parcel or per unit, by delivery countryYour carrier's rate to each country
PackingPer parcelBox, padding, label
PickingPer unitTime to pick and pack each unit

Each cost is valid from a date: a new rate replaces the old one from that day, and past days keep the old one.

You set rates for your whole account and, where a product costs more to ship, for that product.

Which rate wins?

Shipping is priced by where the order ships to, not by the marketplace it was sold on. For each order line, the first rate found wins:

#Rate
1The product's rate for the delivery country
2The product's rate for the rest of the world
3Your account's rate for the delivery country
4Your account's rate for the delivery country's region
5Your account's rate for the rest of the world

Packing and picking follow the same order, with one rate for all destinations instead of a rest-of-the-world rate.

The regions are North America (US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Puerto Rico), Europe (the EU, the UK, Switzerland, Norway, the rest of Europe, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt and India) and Far East (Japan, Australia, Singapore).

What if a destination has no rate?

Its orders cost nothing to ship in the P&L, so their profit is overstated. The FBM costs page shows each destination you shipped to in the last 24 months, with its status: priced, covered by its region's rate, covered by your rest-of-the-world rate, or missing a rate.

Worked example

An order of 2 units shipped to France. Your account rate for France is €6.50 per parcel, packing €0.40 per parcel, picking €0.25 per unit:

€6.50 + €0.40 + 2 × €0.25 = €7.40 of FBM fulfillment cost.

How do you set FBM costs?

On the FBM costs page, by destination card or by spreadsheet, or from your AI assistant through the MCP. Rows are matched on the SKU, and you see the changes before you confirm.

Ask your AI

What did FBM fulfillment cost me per order last month, by delivery country, and which countries have no shipping rate?
  • How the P&L is builtThe lines of Nova's P&L from sales to net profit, what each one takes off, which day each amount lands on, and how costs are grouped.
  • Cost of goods (COGS)How Nova turns the unit costs you enter into COGS by date and marketplace, how regions share costs, FIFO batches, and what happens to a SKU with no cost.
  • VATHow Nova finds the VAT in each order, when it uses Amazon's own tax figure, how your VAT categories apply, and the order of rules it follows.
